RN - Behavioral Health (Psych Inpatient Unit)

Location: Southbridge, MA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner's Psych Inpatient Unit in Webster, MA. This is a rewarding opportunity to utilize your nursing skills in a specialized setting, providing compassionate care to patients experiencing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various mental health conditions, including assessment, medication administration, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication.
• Safety & Milieu Management: Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment, actively participating in de-escalation techniques and managing behavioral crises.
• Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Patient Advocacy: Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights are protected and their needs are met.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient care in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Active RN License: Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience in behavioral health nursing preferred.
• Certifications: Current BLS certification.
• Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Compassion and empathy for patients experiencing mental health challenges.

Schedule:

• Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Weekends: Every other weekend

Additional Details:

• EMR: EPIC
• Assignment Length: 12 weeks
• Start Date: ASAP (pending medical clearance)
