**Job Title:** Surgical Services Technician
**Job Specialty:** OR Tech / Surgical Tech
**Job Duration:** 13-week contract
**Shift:** Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 15:00)
**Guaranteed Hours:** N/A
**Experience:** Minimum 2 years required in specialty; experience with total joint arthroplasty is a must.
**License:** National Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certification preferred.
**Certifications:** Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQI BLS) certification required; CPR certification preferred.
**Must-Have:** Experience with Stryker Mako robotics and total joint arthroplasty
Cerner experience is required.
**Job Description:**
- Facilitate physician’s performance during invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
- Handle instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures.
- Ensure quality patient care and maintain a sterile field during operations.
- Verify surgery details with consent forms and escort patients to the assigned operating room.
- Pass instruments to the surgeon during procedures and anticipate surgeons' needs for additional supplies.
- Perform appropriate counts with the circulator before and after operations.
- Prepare and secure sterile dressings post-surgery.
- Check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures; set up sterile tables with necessary items.
- Assist with draping sterile fields and cleaning/preparing instruments for sterilization.
- Help team members clean and prepare rooms for turnover and next patient.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

- Compliance with required vaccinations, including COVID-19 and flu vaccines, is mandatory for employment; medical and religious exemptions may apply.
- This department handles all operating room services, except PACU anesthesia functions and central sterile functions.
