- Ability to function in stressful and emergent situations
- Competency in all aspects of GI procedures
**Job Description:**
- Assist nurses and physicians in providing care for endoscopy patients.
- Complete competencies for all basic GI procedures and scope reprocessing.
- Prepare the procedure room and sterile field, ensuring a safe patient care environment by gathering required instruments and supplies.
- Serve as an endoscopy procedure assistant.
- Transport patients and equipment, and stock/maintain supplies.
- Handle care and maintenance of endoscopes and their accessories.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of infection control in the GI setting.
- Demonstrate effective and professional communication skills and work as a collaborative team member.
- Assist with planning daily assignments and distributing work to promote department efficiency.
- Participate in the trial and evaluation of new equipment and supplies.
- Uphold confidentiality, support evidence-based practice, and demonstrate ethical accountability.
- Meet all competencies and requirements specific to the facility of employment.
