Job RequirementsExperience or 'Must have' skills: Dedicated vascular sonographer capable of performing all types of vascular studies.General Certification Requirements (BLS, etc.): BLS.Specialty Certifications: For Vascular sonographer one of these certifications - VS (Vascular Sonographer) or RVT (Registered Vascular Tech).Department Specific Equipment: Philips Epiq 7 and GE Vivid E95 for echo, GE Logiq 10 for vascular and US vascular Vasculab.
Schedule InformationDay shift either 5-8 hour shifts 8-430 or 4-10 hour shifts 7-530 – depending on need of the lab.Typically M-F 0800-430. Open to 4-10 hour shifts.Would ask for occasional weekend coverage.
Unit Specific InformationNo float coverage required.Radiology Supervisor or Lead Tech: Lead echo sonographer and Lead vascular sonographer.They do not use RRAs (Registered Radiology Assistants).Radiologist in-house: N/A.Shifts & Scheduling: Self-scheduling or block scheduling not specified.Weekend Requirements: Occasional weekend coverage.Holiday Requirements: Not specified.Call or Standby requirement: None.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Not required to buy color scrubs, can wear scrubs that they have.Department specific orientation provided by clinical preceptor and lead sonographer.
Additional DetailsVascular - depending on the study, most are 45 minute slots, some testing requires 2-45 minute slots.EMR &/or PACS (Picture Archive & Communication System: software & hardware) used: EMR- EPIC, Reporting system for echo is ISCV and Medstreaming for vascular.Lead echo sonographer and Lead vascular sonographer roles within the department.If they have IV skills it is beneficial for adult echo sonographer – not a requirement.
