**Summary**
It is the responsibility of the Traveler Part-Time Freight Operations to perform a lead role at shows of all sizes at any Freeman branch requesting assistance on the dock, floor, or marshalling yard. Travels to assigned shows planning the labor and equipment, job assignments of qualified labor, hours of operation, paperwork procedures, timekeeping, and job cost. Handles show site freight operation by efficiently performing the following duties personally or by overseeing other freight leads. Professionally interacts with customers, team members, and third-party vendor/partner representatives to provide the highest level of service excellence.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. This position follows an in-person scheduling on show- site with travel across the country.
**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
+ Travel as assigned by Corporate Freight Operations to fulfill Freight Operations needs on events of any size.
+ Oversee dock labor at show site by assigning qualified personnel to perform work.
+ Oversee dock operation to ensure a safe work environment.
+ Assist local Freight Supervisor or Manager on training dock labor.
+ Interact with Facility Manager for assigned show and ensure that all facility rules and regulations are followed.
+ Work with warehouse Freight Manager to move warehouse freight to show site
+ Work in or oversee marshalling yard to check in and dispatch carriers.
+ Perform floor supervision duties as needed.
+ Determine and request equipment, tools, drivers, and labor needed to produce show.
+ Ensure that all paperwork procedures are followed as outlined in the Freight Procedure Manual.
+ Ensure job cost is kept to a minimum without sacrificing service to customer
+ Conduct safety & service meetings at show site.
+ Properly analyze and explain invoices to exhibitors.
+ Assist exhibitor services in collecting outstanding invoices.
+ Use the labor budgeting tool to project, analyze, and budget labor.
+ Produce accurate payroll forms, timecards or timekeeping system for labor worked on shows.
+ Complete a post-show recap at the end of an event.
+ Professionally interact with show management and staff on shows.
+ Professionally interacts with local and out of town staff to provide the best possible service.
+ Ensure all equipment is returned from show site to warehouse.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**Education & Experience**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required.
+ Associates Degree or some college preferred and/or freight related experience preferred.
+ 2+ years of supervisory experience required.
+ Two years of trade show, warehouse operations and/or related experience is required.
+ Understanding with: Office software applications including but not limited to email, Microsoft Word, Excel, TSS and Concierge Elite.
