The Traveling Assistant Superintendent role is considered 100% travel, meaning employees in this role must have the ability to work on-site in various locations throughout the entirety of the year.
As a Traveling Assistant Superintendent, you will be essential to furthering our mission by overseeing project progress across various locations, collaborating with stakeholders, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, reviewing schedules and budgets, and making necessary adjustments to meet project deadlines while on the road.

This role will:
- Assist the Construction Superintendent with all construction activities.
- Support the direction of field personnel to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that meets original plans and specifications.
- Help maintain the construction schedule, identify problems, and provide solutions, with a focus on adhering to Cycle Time.
- Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
- Ensure compliance with development, architectural, and engineering plans and specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of contractors' paperwork.
- Conduct constant quality control inspections on all job phases as directed by the Construction Superintendent.
- Keep the Construction Superintendent informed about subcontractor personnel, work progress, and adherence to schedule.
- Monitor job site workers daily for safety violations.
- Help maintain the materials list in the construction office trailer.
- Be familiar with the Safety and Construction Standards manuals.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
- Assist the superintendent in coordinating subcontractors and managing on-site production, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a three-week look-ahead schedule, ensuring adherence to the timeline.
- Facilitate the company's safety program by conducting inspections and organizing safety meetings.
- Assist the superintendent in maintaining daily project progress reports and submitting them to the Project Manager.
- Review and ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, and building codes.
- Capture project photos and maintain close-out data.
- Ensure a neat, orderly job site through good housekeeping practices.
- Manage quality control by verifying equipment and materials.
- Build relationships with government personnel and other key stakeholders.
- Address punch list items promptly and obtain necessary approvals.
- Utilize software tools effectively to manage the project.
- Possess a valid driver's license and meet all pre-employment requirements.
- Pass background checks required for military base access.
This role might be a good fit for you if you have:
- At least two (2) years of experience in commercial, industrial, or military construction, ideally in an Assistant Superintendent or related role.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of personalities.
- A "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude, comfortable with hands-on work when necessary.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, allowing you to clearly convey information and instructions.
- Flexibility and adaptability in dynamic environments.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high standards of accuracy and quality.
- Strong organizational skills with a methodical approach to tasks, ensuring efficiency and precision.
- Proven expertise in project scheduling, with a solid grasp of critical path methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook) and familiarity with project management software.
- A meticulous eye for detail and a commitment to delivering work that meets the highest quality standards.
- A forklift license (preferred).
- First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
- Completion of the 30-hour OSHA training program, demonstrating a thorough understanding of safety regulations.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam software for project management and collaboration.
- Familiarity with iPad usage for job-related tasks and navigation of digital tools.
