+ We are hiring immediately for a full time TRAVELING CHEF position.


+ Location: Midwest Dining - 1151 South Wood Street Chicago, IL 60612. Note: online applications accepted only.


+ Schedule: Full time schedule. Monday through Friday, hours may vary. More details upon interview.


+ This position is 100% travel - Will travel to 1 of 17 accounts based on the needs of the business. Primarily in Illinois, with occasional travel to support Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan.




+ Requirement: Previous experience in scratch cooking, batch cooking, training, Microsoft Office, leadership, menu development & pricing is preferred.

Job Summary



Summary: As a Chef, you will ensure client and customer service satisfaction is attained by providing culinary resources and support. You may be responsible for managing the departments scheduling, discipline, and/or hiring. You may assist the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef in developing new menus, recipes, and ordering. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, entrepreneurial Culinary professional.





Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

+ Assists in coordinating and participating in preparing and cooking various food items.

+ Assists with planning and creating menus.

+ Rolls out new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary team.

+ Assists with managing cost controls and controlling expenditures.

+ Performs other duties as assigned.







Qualifications:

+ 5 years of related culinary experience including 1 year at the management level.

+ Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.

+ Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation.

+ Ability to set up and distribute production sheets.

+ Supervisory, leadership, training, management, and coaching skills.

+ ServSafe or Department of Health Certification is required.

+ Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products including Excel.

+ Associate's degree in Culinary Arts is preferred.
