Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Specialist.
As a Life Enrichment Specialist, you will impact the lives of our residents by –
- Support each Community’s Leadership and Life Enrichment Teams in optimizing each resident’s well-being.
- Utilize critical thinking to help develop approaches to enhance resident engagement in each community.
- Support existing Cedarhurst Senior living communities, including supporting during the acquisition of and opening of new communities.
- Oversees community development initiatives as identified, including the implementation, and monitoring of the electronic life enrichment and family engagement program, memory care programming, and other Life Enrichment related programs.
- Works in tandem with other Regional support to enhance the lives of residents through engagement and programming.
- Coordinates education, training, and mentoring opportunities for all team members.
- Assists in the implementation and monitoring of the adoption of the Company’s memory care model
- Assists in overseeing the development and maintenance of life enrichment, activities, and memory care programming in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations
- Provides ongoing learning and skill development related to life enrichment and memory care best practices for all team members
- Provides monthly training calls to Life Enrichment Teams, reviews monthly calendars for compliance, reviews monthly attendance and communication metrics and provides feedback and support to increase metrics.
- Provides quarterly onsite visits to ensure Life Enrichment and Memory Care standards are met.
- Provides monthly 1-1 support calls via ZOOM/Teams
- Provides guidance regarding Resident Rights concerns and grievances with residents, families, employees, and affected parties
- Provides hands on training for person centered approaches and redirection and engagement for residents living with dementia
- Develops resources and stays aware of new practices in life enrichment and memory care
- Supports up to 25 communities with the potential of assisting in other regions from time to time.
- Assists with hiring of new Life Enrichment Directors and Coordinators.
- Traveling 80-100% of the time within Indiana will all expenses paid for.
- Other duties as assigned.
To become a Life Enrichment Specialist, you will need -
- Two (2) or more years of experience in a senior care community with proven leadership and organizational skills preferred.
- Degree in recreation therapy, social work, gerontology, nursing, health administration or related field preferred
- National or State Activity Director certification, Memory Care Director certification, Certified Dementia Practitioner, or Executive Director license is desired.
