Our company is seeking a Traveling Superintendent with a strong background in Senior Living/Wood-Frame Construction. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our construction projects, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced work environment where you will be able to lead and manage construction projects from start to finish, all while traveling and experiencing new places.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage and oversee retail/commercial construction projects from beginning to end, ensuring that projects are completed within time and budgetary constraints.
2. Understand and implement all aspects of the construction process, including ground-up construction, multifamily projects, and interior finishes.
3. Supervise and direct personnel, ensuring that they adhere to project plans and safety regulations.
4. Coordinate and oversee contractors, subcontractors, and laborers.
5. Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
6. Review the work progress on a daily basis and communicate project status to stakeholders.
7. Resolve any problems that may arise and make necessary decisions throughout the construction process.
8. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists.
9. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, building and safety codes, and other relevant laws.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a construction Assistant Superintendent or in a similar role in the construction industry.
2. Extensive knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guidelines.
3. Experience with hospitality, multifamily, or senior living is a MUST.
4. Strong leadership and management skills5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
6. Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
7. Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
8. Willingness to travel extensively.
9. Proficiency in MS Office and construction management software.
10. A degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is a plus.
