About the Job
The Longmeadow Finance Department is seeking a PT Treasurer Collector Specialist: 34 hours per week. This position is responsible for performing various types of skilled administrative and record keeping services in supporting the operations of the Treasurer/Collector Office, including receiving and processing payments for taxes.
Successful candidate must have:
- Requires knowledge of Massachusetts laws relating to municipal finance. Requires general knowledge of town operations. Knowledge of cash management, account reconciliation, organization, self-direction, general accounting practices and principles, computer knowledge/skills-proficient use of Microsoft Office and Google Suites, Access, and financial software.
- Requires the ability to keep accurate records and reports. Thorough knowledge of department specific application software. Ability to prioritize tasks and multi-task. Ability to maintain good public relations and to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with Town departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials and the general public and to respond in a courteous and professional manner.
- Requires computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Requires excellent planning, time management and organizational skills. Strong customer service skills.
High school diploma, and 3 to 5 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience.
- Salary $23.66- $25.10 per hour DOE/DOQ
