SUMMARY: The Treasury Analyst is responsible for ensuring proper, accurate and timely banking transactions for the Company. Prepares certain cash related journal entries. Also responsible for preparing and distributing various banking, pricing and medical plan reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Responsible for daily monitoring of bank accounts balances
- Independently determines funding for bank accounts and initiates cash movement between accounts
- Initiates or releases wire and ACH transfers as scheduled or required, ensuring activities are done timely and accurately. Communicates with Corporate Accounting as needed.
- Works with cash management and custodian banks including managing and decisioning positive pay exceptions to ensure that the Company is not a victim of fraudulent payment attempts.
- Prepares daily and weekly cash reporting timely and accurately for executive management.
- Prepares monthly bank account reconciliations. Identifies possible concerns and communicates with Corporate Accounting to ensure accounts are reconciled properly and timely in accordance with Company monthly closing procedures.
- Primary administrator for the Company credit card program. Requests new cards, and communicates with team members to ensure coding/approvals are done on a timely basis. Prepares monthly journal entry timely and accurately. Monthly audit procedures to ensure that team members are submitting appropriate expense support.
- Prepares various benefits plan schedules related to the Company medical plan and 401k plans.
- Prepares journal entries for certain cash activities and communicates with Corporate Accounting to ensure all banking activities are appropriately captured.
- Prepares and distributes various weekly pricing reports
- Prepares and submits various medical plan reports
- Supports quarterly forecasting procedures
- Supports year end audit procedures for both Company and 401k/medical plan audits. Prepares trial balances for both the 401k and medical plans and communicates with audit teams as necessary to support audit procedures.
- Responsible for timeliness and accuracy in all areas
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will not have supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
· Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
- Entry level position
- Strong PC skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of management with excellent verbal, written and problem-solving skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with an ability to make decisions
- Ability to work overtime as needed during the monthly close process
· Preferred
- Previous poultry company experience.
