OTC will assist the Orthodontist with New Patient Consults. It is essential to be flexible, have a ‘can do’ personality and work in a timely fashion. As an orthodontic treatment coordinator, you must be friendly, outgoing, and attentive to patients' needs. An Orthodontic Treatment Coordinator must understand orthodontic procedures and be comfortable discussing insurance, billing, and financials.
- Certified dental assistant program or six months Orthodontic on the job training
- 1+ years Treatment Coordinating Experience
- Radiography certification
- Current CPR Certification
- Obtain and record Medical History.
- Understanding of dental insurance for patient education.
- Operating X-ray equipment and taking photos for patient records.
- Preparing and sterilizing instruments, materials, and equipment in accordance with infection control and biohazard protocols.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are effectively maintained.
- Always providing excellent patient care.
- Presenting treatment plans and payment options.
- New Patient Confirmations.
- Completing contracts and payment authorization forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
The physical demands of the job require constant visual and auditory acuity, standing, repetitive movements, occasional sitting, walking, simple grasping, bending, squatting, kneeling, writing, pushing, pulling, reaching above and below the shoulder level.
Position requires occasional lifting demands of up to 25 pounds and occasional carrying demands of up to 10 pounds up to 50 feet.
Working conditions are predominately an office environment, with little to no exposure to environmental hazards.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of dental records and documentation.
- Comply with clinical protocols and standards.
- Sound knowledge of how to use equipment, instruments, terminology, and materials.
- A good understanding of orthodontic techniques, health, and safety protocols.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Software.
