Treatment Plant Technician 1 - Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County

Located in Metro Water Services, this position performs skilled work involved in operating a water/wastewater treatment plant and its facilities to produce a water/ wastewater product that is in compliance with federal and state environmental regulations. Performs related duties as required.

Employee works in both office and plant environments. Employees in this classification are exposed to weather extremes, possible chemical or electrical hazards, and a variety of biological contaminants. Work requires good physical conditioning for walking and climbing stairs and ladders. Employee may work various shifts, holidays, weekends and requires 24 hour availability to assist in emergency situations.

It takes electricians, chemists, engineers, mechanics, information technology workers, customer service representatives and more working together to service more than 212,000 water, 224,000 stormwater and 216,000 sewer accounts.
