About the Job
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3:30 pm - 11:30 pm – 2nd shift, 8-hour shift.
Location: Newington, CT
SUMMARY
Transport materials and mail between Data-Mail Facilities and designated vendors
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive Class A and B vehicles, Company Vans and pick ups, Standard and Automated Transmission, operating up to & including 53’ dry vans
- Load and unload materials/mail using fork truck and electric ride on hand trucks
- Keep accurate driving log records: manually and electronic logs
- Maintain effective communication with Supervisors regarding loads at both facilities
- Serve as yard jockey in multiple Newington and Windsor Plants
- Processing, scanning and securing materials for each load in safe and efficient manner. Ability to process materials for inventory use and locate materials in rack warehouse system, using barcode functionality
- Keep work areas neat and clean, including all company vehicles
- Comply with company rules and regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data
- Implement a commitment to quality philosophy and recommend methods and procedures to reduce cost and/or improve operating efficiency of the department
- Keep manager/supervisor informed of situations that will affect the achievement of corporate or department goals and objectives
- Flexibility to perform various warehouse related duties, as required, to achieve the goals and objectives of the department and company
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED plus 1-2 years’ experience in operating multiple style forklift.
- CDL Class A license is required w/ at least 1 year on the job experience
- Operation of both Standard and Automatic transmissions a must
- Knowledge of State Of Ct DOT Regulations
COMPETENCIES
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer Experience w/ barcoding
- Good/clean driving record.
