About the Job
The Production Manager leads the day-to-day operations of a RTE production facility, which includes overseeing personnel, safety, quality, and production. This role has regular interaction with Materials, Production Scheduling, Estimating, Engineering, Human Resources, Sales and Customers.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Direct and manage production for safety, quality, maintenance, shipping and receiving
- Track operational metrics to support continuous improvement in the production facility, including, but not limited to the areas of safety, quality, delivery, material cost, inventory dollars, labor productivity and employee morale
- Manage production and shipment schedules to meet customer due dates
- Implement/manage visual management initiatives
- Ensure all company-wide programs, initiatives, policies and procedures are implemented and maintained in relation to the production facility and that required expectations are met
- Facilitate training to accomplish the company goals, objectives and required job functions
- Manage and assist in the development of Production Team Members, as well as c oach & counsel employees as necessary
- Interface with sales to provide customer focused solutions
- Participate in interview process for hourly technician candidates
- May maintain work skills to facilitate job performance as a working member of the team, and to be aware of the required skills for team members
- Potential to oversee multiple branches
Required Credentials
- Five (5) years of experience in a customized operations setting such as truck equipment or up-fit industry
- Three (3) years of Supervisory experience required
- Knowledgeable in implementation of Lean Manufacturing and 5S
- Proficient in Computer skills Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping preferred
- Demonstrated problem solving, decision making, process, and critical thinking skills
- Minimal Travel (10%-15%)
