Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Trust and Probate Legal Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assisting with estate planning, trust administration, and probate processes. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys and clients, playing a critical role in the successful management of cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with the preparation and filing of probate petitions, wills, trusts, and related documents.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up-to-date and accurately filed.
- Communicate with clients, beneficiaries, and financial institutions regarding case progress and documentation needs.
- Conduct preliminary legal research and gather relevant information for ongoing cases.
- Assist in the preparation of inventories, accountings, and court filings.
- Manage calendars and schedule meetings, appointments, and court dates for attorneys.
Qualifications:
- Paralegal certificate required
- 2-5 years of experience as a legal assistant, with trust and probate litigation experience
- Strong understanding of probate and trust administration processes in Texas.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in legal document preparation and familiarity with legal research.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
