1. Position
- TTL Thread Inspector
- FLSA Classification(s): Non-Exempt/Hourly
2. Job Summary
- This position performs all thread gauging in accordance with API 5B, Customer specification and procedures.
3. Immediate Supervisor
- This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor
4. Standards
- Provide exceptional customer service to all customers, suppliers, and employees.
- Constantly represent Axis Pipe and Tube in a positive and professional manner regardless of customer requests, complaints, or demeanor.
- Comply with Axiss policies and procedures.
- Interact with other employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Communicating all matters relating to the work being undertaken and any significant issues to the supervisor.
5. Responsibilities
- Maintains a record of all activities on the Final Inspector report form.
- Is responsible for determining a product's acceptability under 5CT specifications or customer or other pertinent specifications.
- Reports to Quality supervisor or TTL supervisor of any continuing imperfections so that immediate correction may be taken.
- Marks pipe for cut-off or repair.
- Determines if pipe is rejectable (unsuitable for the current specification) due to imperfections which exceed those specified by Customer or specification.
- Records all non-conformances on daily inspection report.
- Measures and Gauges threads for compliance.
- May mark and identify tools and equipment, using identification tag, stamp, or electric marking tool
- Maintains tracking documentation. Maintains records of calibration to ensure traceability.
- Some judgement required for following instructions and standardized procedures
6. Qualifications
- High School Diploma, OR Equivalency Certificate, (GED, etc.)
- 2 Years equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment
- Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges
- Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
- Able to read, write, speak and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.
7. Working Conditions
- This position requires frequent communication, both written and oral.
- The work environment for this position is primarily in a manufacturing plant with loud noise from heavy machinery, grease, and dirt.
- There may be exposed to adverse weather conditions, extreme cold and heat, handling hazardous chemicals, bad odors, dirt, and dust.
- Workers will be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk long distances and work in confined spaces.
- Work might involve pushing, pulling, and lifting heavy materials.
- Position requires the use of personal protective equipment.
8. Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Hiring Process Information:
Employment requires successful completion of a pre-employment drug test and background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
