Shaw Industries is looking for a Process Engineerto oversee andprovideengineering leadership to theturf business.This position manages processes or key components ofturfprocessing.The positionwill focus on finished quality at PlantWE butmay involve projects across the turf business.The positionprovidesengineering perspectives and skills to supportturfqualityactivities of plant personnel and serves asaresource tothe turf businessand the agent of thecustomer. This position is based in Chatsworth, GA.
This position will be offered as a Process Engineer or Sr. Process Engineer depending on experience andqualifications.

Responsibilities:
Support the finishing department by working closely with the department manager on Turf initiatives,processingand projects.
Prioritize quality compliance, Root Cause quality issues, continuous improvement, and data analysis.
Training and ImplementingTurfprocessingbest practices, Statistical Process Control, and Inspection Methods as dictated by the Plant Management System.
Trainothers inTurfQuality Inspection, as well as developing Quality Instruction, Checklist, Corrective and Preventive Action Plans
Track,chartand analyze all Critical to QualityTurfTesting Data, Department Quality Metrics & Claims Researchidentifyingand issuing Corrective Actions to correct root cause issues.
Participate in the development and achievement of the plant’s annualturfquality and claims goals.
Track and evaluate yarn lot performance infinishingandprovidefeedback to extrusion and tufting.
Provideturf reinspect with ship/downgrade/chance ship decisions as needed. Work closely with inspectors and reinspectteamstoidentifyand communicate quality issues.
AssistinInternal Audits, lab testing, and inspections.
Travelto other turf processing plantsformeetings,reviews,track and verify defects are correct.
Coordinateindependenttestingas requested by internal and external customers.
Create systems tomonitorincoming raw materialqualityand ensure compliance with specs.
Assist Turf Technical Support manager withvisiting job sites to understand quality and claim issues
Be a liaison between manufacturing and Turf Operations related to quality issues.
Other duties and assignments arerequiredas directed by management.

Qualifications:
Must have4-year engineering(or related field) degree
Excellent computer skillsrequired.
Must be able to work on all three shifts as required.
Preferred:
Statistical or engineering background preferred.
Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
MS Products,forms, docs,power automateability to research preferred.
Previousmanufacturing experience

This position will be offered as a Process Engineer S05 or S06 depending on experience andqualifications.
Work Shift
