MJ Celco, a family owned metal stamper and fabricator, located in Schiller Park is seeking someone who can set up and operate a Turret punch press.
**Job Summary:**
The Turret Punch Press Set Up & Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining turret punch press machines to produce precision parts and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of punch press operations, tooling, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Set up and operate turret punch press machines to produce parts according to work orders and specifications.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine machine setup requirements.
- Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and punches for each job.
- Adjust machine settings to ensure proper alignment, positioning, and operation.
- Load and unload materials, ensuring proper placement and secure fastening.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality.
- Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy, making necessary adjustments to meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and company standards.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and meet deadlines.
- Document production activities, including setup times, run times, and any issues encountered.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience setting up and operating turret punch press machines or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of punch press operations, tooling, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
