About the Job
The Audacy NY TWIN Traffic Center is looking for a dynamic and talented professional to work as a Traffic reporter & producer for 1010 WINS & WCBS-AM. Traffic reporter duties include gathering, writing and updating select traffic stories for broadcast on WINS & WCBS-AM, not only for on air, but also on Audacy’s social media channels. Deliver live and taped Traffic reports for both all-news radio stations as required. Manage all traffic operations assets from the production, composition and editing of Traffic information used in on-air reports, to the presentation of Traffic info both on-air and also via on-line station social media channels. Must source both Traffic & Transit info and prepare report coverage for both planned Traffic events as well as unplanned Traffic events impacting New York Tri-state area and people’s ability to get around.
Responsibilities:
What You'll Do:
- Voice Traffic reports on Audacy stations to air on broadcast and digital platforms
- Gather, produce, write and edit traffic information, constantly keeping info current and relevant for both planned and non-planned events.
- Monitor all Traffic gathering data assets (i.e. 511 Traffic Information websites, public agency sources (Transcom, Port Authority, NYDOT), Traffic camera imagery, Traffic surveillance aircraft, scanner listening, station tip callers etc.)
- Post, edit & manage Traffic information to Audacy Social media accounts i.e. Twitter X
- Provide live reads of Traffic sponsors within designated reports by the company, including certifying on station logs that sponsor copy was read, as well as alerting management of any discrepancies when sponsor copy didn’t air for whatever reason.
- Participate in routing air-check coaching sessions
- Other duties as required by management

Qualifications:
More About You:
- Knowledge of New York Tri-state area Traffic geography
- Minimum 2-year traffic or news reporting for broadcast media
- Must be willing to join SAG AFTRA
Required & Preferred:
- Knowledge of Google Workspace, Slack and other online collaboration platforms
- Must be able to gather & ready real time incident and other traffic information
- Must be an experienced story teller in broadcast Traffic reports
- Knowledge of the broadcast area commuting/local geography and transportation systems are essential
Role Expectations (included but not limited to):
- Studio-Based Reporting: Work from the studio to mitigate risks associated with internet or power outages that could disrupt reporting. Utilize the studio’s backup power and resources to ensure continuous operation.
- Receive and Respond to Traffic Tips: Handle listener tip calls regarding traffic information, received by phone in the studio.
- Coordinate with Mets Radio Broadcast: Accept and process phone calls from Mets radio broadcast personnel for recorded traffic reports during pre-game segments.
- In-Person Engagement: Collaborate directly with WINS editors and news anchors to facilitate quick communication and coordination, especially in urgent traffic news situations.
- Enhance Ratings through Studio Work: Contribute to improved PPM (Portable People Meter) results by delivering uncompressed audio reports from the studio, which positively impacts overall station ratings.

Pay Transparency:
The anticipated starting salary range for New York-based individuals expressing interest in this position is $40.03/hr - $40.03/hr..
Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities and location of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.
