Business Overview
Fidelity's Professional Services Group (PSG) is seeking a Software Engineer to provide business solutions by developing complex and multiple software applications for Managed Account Investment Product. This position will play a role in developing software solutions for enhancing and improving Rep Experience supporting our Managed Accounts customers and is responsible for developing solutions on Fidelity's Rep Desktop. A managed account is designed for investors who prefer to have Fidelity manage their money for them, so they can focus on other aspects of their life. Managed Accounts business portfolio has been growing over the last few years and this business unit has undertaken an initiative to re-platform many legacy applications and provide a simplified and flexible modern application environment. The UI is expected to be based on the new HTML 5 client side MVC architecture.
Rep Experience Applications: Systems used by representatives to manage their workload of onboarding new customers and maintain relationships with existing customers
The position is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Primary Responsibilities
JavaScript programming on both the client and the server (e.g. Bootstrap, jQuery UI, Node.js, Backbone.js, Angular.js etc.)
Web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks, e.g., MEAN stack)
Using leading industry standard technologies: ESB, Web API, etc.
The following are considered a plus, but not required:
Expertise in making use of Cascading Style Sheets CSS3 features & CSS frameworks to implement responsive web design
Some Experience with both SQL and NoSQL database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB etc.)
Experience in a SaaS and/or PaaS environment desirable
Distributed system and design patterns experience desirable

Primary Responsibilities
- Participate and contribute in all aspects of agile/scrum team tasks
- Develops proof of concepts and applications of advanced complex scope
- Candidate should be able to work closely with developers, at our global locations
- Participate in requirements gathering, system analysis and scope estimation
- Support development environment for user testing
- Performs unit and integration testing
- Participate in all phases of the development lifecycle - requirements gathering, design, coding, testing and deployment of the functionality.
- Work with production support staff and business to resolve production issues
- On-call support rotation responsibilities
Education and Experience - Bachelors in Computer Science or related major with 4+ years of industry experience
Or - Masters in Computer Science or related major with 3+ years of industry experience.
- Investment/financial services experience will be a plus.
