Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality individual user design concept pieces or fully realized user experience design epics that encompass end to end concepts.
- Creates/updates detailed design specifications.
- Conceptualizes and creates UX process flows.
- Production and maintenance of personas.
- Demonstrated ability to produce common UX deliverables such as but not limited to: User Research Studies, Empathy Mapping, Personas, Journey Mapping, UX audits, Story Boards, User Scenarios/Use Cases, Information Architecture Maps, and Task Flows.
- Identify how users interact with current and planned system functionalities.
- Proactively utilize and apply best practices in user design research projects.
- Determine the criteria on how design requirements will be accepted at the story level.
- Confirm the correct acceptance criteria is documented for each story.
- Review for design accuracy of the final developed product prior to release.
- Prepare high quality documentation pertaining to detailed design specifications.
- Participates on project teams, supporting business and IT stakeholder requests.
- Proactively monitors and identifies opportunities for improvement on production platforms.
- Creates presentation materials as needed.
- Work within an agile development environment, Scrum and iterative development.
- Promote and apply knowledge of design best practices and methodologies helping to drive adoption.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 4-6 years' experience in digital design.
- Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Axure, PhotoShop etc.
- Experience working in Agile and collaborative environments.
- Portfolio or example of work is requested.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Ability to empathize and be the voice of the user.
- Demonstrated experience wireframeing and UI prototyping.
- Demonstrated experience creating UI's for both Web and Mobile platforms.
- Expert understanding of navigation schemas, interface designs and UX principles
- Demonstrated experience producing high quality interactive visual designs
- Ability to proactively design and conduct user research methods for use in design
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS and other native or scripting languages, especially how they lead to the success of a design in meeting the user's needs.
- Ability to write for the web.
- Ability to interact with and interview high profile individuals.
- Knowledge of analytics and how to use them in effective designs.
- Knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.
- Agile and Scrum software development methodology.
- Knowledge of Application Development/Software engineering.
- Ability to provide constructive critiques as well as absorb and extract useful information when receiving a critique, even if harsh.
- Strong communication skills, capable of interacting with all levels of IT and business management and skilled at summarizing and communicating complex technical concepts/strategies.
- Understanding of software development processes and criticality of various kinds of software testing-unit, smoke, system, integration, and root cause analysis, etc.
- Four-year college degree in Interaction Design or equivalent preferred. Portfolio will be required and will be accepted in absence of a formal degree.
- Microsoft or product specific accreditations are a plus.
- Ability to travel - up to 10%.
