About the Job
- This is a weekday position comprised of(4) 10-hour shifts | 8AM - 6:30PM.
- There are no nights, and no on-call requirements for this role.
- Position Summary
- Under the direction of a Radiologist, Sonographer utilizes clinical and technical knowledge to obtain high quality sonographic images and detailed patient information that will provide the radiologist with the diagnostic information necessary for accurate interpretations. Performs a variety of adult and pediatric exams. Promotes a smooth flow of patients through the department and helps to create a calm and supportive atmosphere. Performs tasks as required, paying attention to detail and accuracy. Conducts all interactions with patients and personnel in a courteous, respectful manner while maintaining confidentiality.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, procedures, and equipment at a level generally acquired through a completion of an approved AMA school of ultrasound.
- License/Certifications: RDMS required or ARRT equivalent required. CPR certification required. Must be licensed in the state they are practicing.
- Experience: At least one year of experience preferred. High risk OB ultrasound experience is preferred but training will be provided. Completion of an approved Ultrasound program is required.
- Analytical ability to identify and characterize pathology, appropriately image pathology and identify areas requiring further testing. Must be able to analyze quality of the scan.
- Participates in continuing education and maintains knowledge through appropriate technical journals, in-services and education programs in order to maintain and enhance expertise.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to flex based on department volumes/demands.
- Day shift with some weekend coverage.
