- Job Summary
- The Ultrasound Tech is responsible for the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment for the performance of all dynamic ultrasound procedures under the supervision of a qualified doctor of medicine. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
- Working Conditions, Hazards and Physical Effort
Works in a radiation exposure area. Exposure to infectious materials, cuts, and abrasions from equipment. A flexible work schedule is required. Constant physical activity. Strenuous activity involved with moving equipment and patients. Must be able to move or position 50 lbs. independently.
- Minimum Qualifications or Equivalents
- Education: Graduate of AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology or an accredited school of Sonography.
- Experience: One (1) year experience as a registered staff Radiographer is required. Advanced modality registration is preferred. ARDMS registered or registry eligible with registry completion within twelve (12) months of hire date. Ultrasound experience preferred.
- EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of anatomy and physiology as related to ultrasound imaging. Must have the ability to operate all equipment necessary to fulfill job requirements.
- Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (AART) or American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). Must maintain current certification.
