Key Responsibilities
Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
Interpret and analyze ultrasound results to ensure optimal imaging
Assist and prepare patients for ultrasound procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to assess ultrasound findings
Maintain and update patient records and image documentation
Adhere to patient confidentiality and data protection regulations
Calibrate and maintain ultrasound equipment for optimal performance
Follow protocols and safety measures to minimize risks during ultrasound procedures
Provide clear and concise explanations of ultrasound procedures to patients
Stay updated with advancements in ultrasound technology and procedures
Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities
Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment within the imaging department
Assist in training and mentoring new ultrasound technicians
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities
Perform additional administrative and clinical tasks as needed
Required Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification
Valid state licensure as an ultrasound technologist
Proven experience in performing ultrasound procedures and interpreting results
Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Proficiency in operating and maintaining ultrasound equipment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and accuracy in diagnostic imaging and recording
Adherence to ethical and professional standards in healthcare
Commitment to patient care, comfort, and safety
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
Ability to work effectively in a team-based healthcare environment
