Job Summary and Qualifications
Under limited supervision but the radiologist's direction, the Ultrasound Technologist completes sonography procedures including routine sonograms and interventional sonograms including biopsies.
What you will do in this role:
- Sonographers participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities.
- Sonographers work within the guidelines established in the policies and procedure manual and comply with all safety and infection control guidelines.
- Sonographers work in accordance with JCAHO, State, or other regulatory or accreditation agencies in the performance of their duties.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
- Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and/or School of Sonography
- Two-year program or four-year BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training in sonography or completion of requirements from an accredited school in sonography including meeting all clinical requirements
- Sonography, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
- ARDMS and RVT registration required within 12 months of hire
- BLS Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one-year hospital department experience in medical sonography to include biopsies
