Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Ultrasound Technical Coordinator, performs patient care and technical duties involved in a wide variety of ultrasound diagnostic procedures that require independent judgment. Complex technical tasks include utilizing high frequency sound waves to detect anatomical abnormalities in accordance with prescribed sonographic procedures. Able to communicate findings to the Radiologist in a clear and concise manner. Perform all other related duties as assigned.

This is a part-time position with rotating weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Generally, establishes own work plan and priority, using standard procedures, to assure the timely completion of work in conformance with department policies, practices, and good patient care.
- Problems lacking clear precedent are reviewed with the supervisor prior to action.
- May be called upon to provide technical assistance to less experienced associates and/or students.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/APTITUDE/EXPERIENCE:
- Recent hospital experience preferred. Effective verbal communication skills and computer skills required. Experience with PACS and dedicated RIS. Demonstration of excellent interpersonal, organization and time management skills.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must be able to reasonably make appropriate judgment in communications and actions with patient, physicians, other associates, outside agencies and vendors.
