Pay Rate
The wage for this position is between $32 and $40. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location and other factors.
As a Ultrasound Technologist you will:
- Review patient’s medical history and physician’s instructions.
- Prepare equipment for procedure. Selects appropriate equipment settings.
- Explain procedure to patient and records any medical history that may be relevant to the condition being viewed.
- Direct the patient to move into positions that will provide the best view.
- Spread gel on the skin to aid in the transmission of sound waves.
- Operate special equipment to direct nonionizing, high-frequency sound waves into areas of the patient’s body. The equipment collects reflected echoes and forms an image that may be videotaped, transmitted, or photographed for interpretation and diagnosis by a physician.
- View the screen during the scan, looking for visual cues that contrast healthy areas with unhealthy ones.
- Select images to show the physician for diagnostic purposes.
- Take measurements, calculates values, and analyzes the results in a preliminary report for the physicians.
- Keep patient records and adjusts/maintains equipment.
- Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies/procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in sonography from an accredited school.
- Current RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) Certification
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum of one year of experience working as a certified Ultrasound Technologist

Pay Details: $32.00 to $40.00 per hour
