Ideal candidates will have previous security officer, security guard (armed or unarmed) experience, military and/or law enforcement experience.

Duties and job functions include: lobby desk, patrol, control center, access control, emergency response and risk management

Security Officers, sometimes referred to as Security Guards, deter criminal activity, protect property and enforce rules on a property. Some monitor surveillance cameras and alarms from a stationary position, while others patrol areas and do security checks. In factories and offices, Security Officers provide protection for equipment and workers along with checking the credentials of vehicles and individuals coming and going from the premises.

Available Security Officer Positions:

• Rover: Extensive foot and/or vehicle patrols, responsible for detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior, etc. Periodic patrols to check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
  
  • Other duties to be determined by security supervisor
• Gatehouse: Greet residents and guests with a friendly demeanor, check identification, log visitor vehicles, announce visitors, control access to all persons to the property, etc.
  • Other duties to be determined by security supervisor
• Front Desk: Acknowledge and greet all guests with utmost courtesy and urgency, customer service, access control, greeting residents and guests with a courteous demeanor, monitor CCTV camera systems, announce visitors, distribute packages, etc.

Requirements:

• Active non-commissioned security license through the state of Texas.
• 18 years of age and High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug test.
• Technology skills: operate access control system, utilize a computer for incident reports, operate security software systems or applications, use email.
• Strong customer service skills, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Experience managing multiple tasks, executing radio and telephone communications while performing in a medium to high pressure environment with frequently changing and/or competing demands.
• Familiarity with report writing.
• Operate access control systems, utilize a computer for incident reports, navigate security software systems or applications and use email.
• Excellent surveillance and observation skills.
• Possess above average written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to interact effectively with client staff and the public.

Qualifications:

• At least 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid TX Unarmed Security License
• Valid TX Driver's License - Clean Driving Record - Past 3 years
• CPR Certification is a plus but not required
• Prior law enforcement experience, military and/or corrections experience
• Strong customer service skills
• Familiarity with report writing
• Monitoring and surveillance experience
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
• Previous security experience is required
