Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs. + Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission. + Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours. + Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities. + May review and edit financial aid forms. + Composes correspondence, and designs and generates reports. + Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process. + Performs related responsibilities as required. + Must show strong interest in supporting Emory’s mission for a robust academic and intellectual student experience; a collaborative, creative, and community-focused energy is valued. + Project focus may include work with one of the following admission areas: Arts at Emory, or international enrollment, faculty support, student volunteers. + Travels approximately 3 weeks in the fall, and 2 weeks in the spring promoting Emory at college fairs, high school visits, CBO and other advocacy organizations, and university receptions across the nation. + Public engagement requires excellent communication skills for both in-person and virtual presentations, and the ability to create new content. + Serves on 30 member Admission Committee, reviews approximately 1,000 applicants providing comments and admission ratings; works collaboratively across various phases of the selection calendar, both in-person and virtually, as the team builds the first-year class. + Conduct information sessions for visitors on a regular basis; serve as resource to the public on behalf of Emory, and broadly in support of students’ college search. + Successful candidate must be comfortable in hybrid model of both virtual and in-person programming and office work. + Lead special project area to be assigned by supervisor and office leadership. + Previous examples include: tour guides, student volunteers, high school counselor programs, alumni volunteers, transfer admission, faculty relations. + The office values creativity and flexibility as new projects are needed for changing times. + Expected to be knowledgeable of other university divisions, specifically the 3 other undergraduate colleges: Nursing, Oxford, and Business. + Field inquiries and respond to correspondence from prospective students, applicants, counselors, parents, faculty, alumni, and other university constituencies. + Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs. + Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission. + Assist with fall/spring on-campus visitation programs, helping to coordinate events for in-person and virtual visitors. + During the busy office cycles of the academic year, you may be asked to work on some weekends and evenings. + Time out of the office and away from home is common at points during the academic calendar. + Bilingual preferred. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. + Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location. Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
