This position requires rotating shift work, which may include nights and weekends.
Description:
C3EL has a great opportunity for a Unified Capabilities Specialist to support the the GSMO program, which provides Sustainment, Maintenance, Problem and Change Management services to help ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of the Department of Defense IP, Transport and Unified Capabilities (UC) networks. This position will have a focus on Unified Capabilities Video and Voice Services provided to DoD customers globally while supporting DISA's 24/7/365 Network Operations Center.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain a large, complex, and highly resilient Cisco based enterprise IP voice and video communications infrastructure.
- Manage, configure, troubleshoot, and assure service supporting all aspects of an enterprise voice, video, and data network. Must be organized, document oriented, possess skills in diagramming, and understand WAN principals.
- Perform system maintenance, support capacity planning activities, and complete configuration change actions and documentation efforts.
- Provide technical support for the design, implementation, and integration of network changes and sustainment.
- Assist in the planning and performing of analytical research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications.
- Perform various complex software development tasks.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance current customer capabilities.
- Ensure efficient delivery of contract capabilities using industry standards and repeatable processes.
- Mitigate risks, control costs, schedule variance, and effectively manage large-scale, integrated projects.
- Perform a variety of analytical tasks which include the hardware and software design and implementation utilizing various facility equipment.
- Work independently to achieve day-to-day tasks with minimal support.
- Troubleshoot remote site registration, signaling, and media problems.
- Validate change requests and ensure accuracy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active, in-Scope US government issued Secret clearance with eligibility for a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI)
- U.S. Citizenship (Due to the the nature of work and contract requirements)
- 5+ years of prior relevant experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certificate (Security+ CE or equivalent)
- Experience analyzing VLAN, routing, IP addressing and sub-netting
- Experience troubleshooting and configuring IP networks
Desired Qualifications:
- Technical certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, ITIL, etc.
- Experience with VTC Gatekeeper configuration and troubleshooting
- Experience with DISA Unified Capabilities (UC) and Global Video Services (GVS)
- Advanced knowledge of Cisco, Vidyo, and Polycom VTC equipment and infrastructures
- Thorough understanding of H.323 IP VTC Vidyo-based platforms and protocols required to support VTC technology
- Experience with packet sniffer software such as Wireshark or Net Scout to analyze network traffic
- Experience with one or multiple Cisco, Avaya, or Oracle voice platforms including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity, Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), Oracle Session Border Controller (SBC), Avaya AS5300, or Avaya Aura Application Server
- Remedy Ticketing or GTMS/ITSM experience is a plus
- Prior military experience or experience working as a contractor in a Government environment is preferred.
