Summary: The Unisys ClearPath OS 2200 Database Administrator (DBA) provides database administration, design, and development support for a fast-paced environment at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This role involves troubleshooting database issues, tuning performance, and coordinating database changes, with a focus on DMS 2200 and RDMS 2200 systems. The position requires collaboration with development teams and 24/7 on-call support as needed.

Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain Unisys OS 2200 databases (DMS 2200 and RDMS 2200) and ensure performance optimization.
- Modify and tune database access interfaces, schemas, and subschemas to meet business needs.
- Provide secondary support for production and non-production databases, including backup, recovery, and restoration.
- Collaborate with management to develop database strategies and offer user support on database-related issues.
- Troubleshoot database performance and operational issues, recommending solutions and improvements.
- Perform system monitoring, database performance tuning, and ensure technical documentation is up-to-date.
- Participate in or lead project activities and provide on-call support as required.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8-10 years of Unisys DBA experience on OS 2200 (15 years in lieu of a degree).
- Experience with DMS 2200 and RDMS 2200, Unisys COBOL (ACOB and UCOB), and data processing methodologies.
- Strong understanding of database design, programming, and backup/recovery techniques.
Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of Meta-Assembler (MASM), Symbolic Stream Generator (SSG), CMplus, and ALN (Access Location Number).
