Greets patients, performs mini-registrations, answers telephones, and performs other duties of the Emergency Department Triage and Communications area.

- 1. Greets and screens patients, physicians and visitors. Maintains customer standards as set by the Hospital and department.
- 1.1 Graciously and promptly acknowledges and receives patients, physicians and visitors to the department. Always introduces oneself and uses patient's name; uses care in making patient and family comfortable, thereby making a noticeable effort to establish and maintain rapport.
- 2. Performs mini-registration, initiates and completes patient visit information. Collects necessary information from patients in completing the registration.
- 2.1 Promptly and courteously checks patients into the department.
- 3. Performs all clerical functions of the Communication Center.

- 6.1 Attends and participates in unit meetings as directed. ? Assumes responsibility for reading and comprehending all posted minutes and memos.
- 7. Demonstrates positive, professional attitude and cooperation in carrying out department objectives.
- 7.1 Demonstrates sensitivity in interpersonal relationships, avoids antagonisms, reduces conflict, and otherwise works effectively with others.
EDUCATION
High School graduate or equivalent. Prefer formal secretarial training.
EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent. Prefer formal secretarial training.
SPECIAL SKILLS
Knowledge of computers and typing skills. Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. Excellent communication, telephone, interpersonal and customer service skills. Must be well organized and able to work in a fast paced environment. Competency in caring for patients treated at the Hospital regardless of age, disability, sexual preferences, gender, ethnicity.
