Position: Unit Clerk
Shift: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Salary: $18 / hr

Alliance Care Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is committed to providing the highest quality of care in a compassionate and supportive environment. We are seeking a dedicated and organized Unit Clerk to join our team and support our nursing staff in delivering exceptional care to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver new admission charts to the unit and initiate forms in preparation for admission.
- Fax physicians’ orders daily, first thing in the morning, from the previous shifts.
- Deliver faxed printouts to the appropriate departments.
- Complete the daily transfer of vital signs and weights from the daily assignment sheet to the resident’s chart.
- Check and restock the supply drawer at the nurses’ station as needed.
- Maintain an orderly and neat nurses’ station.
- Screen all incoming phone calls for nursing and forward messages appropriately.
- Schedule appointments with physicians for residents and relay information to nursing.
- Initiate phone calls to physicians, family members, or personnel as needed.
- Type documents as directed by Nursing Administration.
- Schedule professional agency personnel as directed and supervised by the Director of Nursing Services (DNS) and serve as the contact person for the agency.
- Notify the Food Service Department of any dietary changes.
- Maintain a current bathing schedule on the bath record for nurse aides.
- Greet visitors, guests, residents, etc., and provide information/directions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes their needs and rights.
- Order medical supplies under the direction of the DNS.
- Fill medical supply requests in the planned absence of the Central Supply Clerk.
Requirements:
- Must be knowledgeable of computer systems, system applications, and other office equipment.
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
- Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
