Robinson Terrace Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking a full-time Unit Clerk. Hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm
Requirements
- Must have a High School degree of equivelent
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the facility
- Must display a solid work ethic.
Duties Include:
- Keep patient records accurately identified.
- Communicate with members of the health care team, patients, and visitors using verbal and written means and equipment such as the telephone and intercom.
- Transcribe nurse’s orders per policy.
- Assist nursing staff in making unoccupied beds and to fill the clean utility rooms with fresh linens (bed pads, washcloths, towels, etc.)
- Assist recreation aides in transporting to and from activities, rehab and appointments as needed
- Prepare and maintain the unit’s medical information system including patient profiles.
- Check charts daily for incomplete histories and operative summaries and brings these to the attention of the appropriate member of the health care team for correction.
- Report any unusual resident behavior to the aide and nursing staff.
- Prepare special forms and may obtain closed records from Medical Records.
- Complete requests for nonmedical services such as beauty shop appointments
- Send profile and change-of-bed status on patient admission, discharge, and transfer.
- Stock and manage supplies such as linens, IV supplies
- Assists with receiving, distributing, and sorting supplies brought to the unit. Check to ensure accurate charging of exchange-cart items.
- Perform clerical duties such as making copies and faxing documents.
- Greet visitors /consultants etc. to the unit, assist as needed.
- Answer incoming calls and route callers to the correct extension.
- Track appointments (ordered vs completed)
- Upload forms, consultations, resident records etc. to the electronic medical record.
