24hpw; 8-hr shifts (7a-3:30p, 7:30a-4p OR 8a-4:30p) ; rotating weekends & holidays
Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities
+ Cleans, stocks, and readies the department for care for patients.
+ Orders equipment and supplies; maintains par levels of supplies
+ Maintains equipment and prepares for readiness.
+ Performs housekeeping duties as needed (i.e: emptying trash and linen).
+ Performs errands to other areas of the hospital.
+ Transports patients within the department and to in-hospital locations as needed.
+ Performs clinical functions, utilizes sterile technique when necessary, and obtains labs specimens, vital signs, and other tasks as needed.
+ Carries out tasks as directed by physicians, nurse director and nursing staff.
+ Maintenance of the medical records located on the nursing unit.
+ Unit receptionist responsibilities: telephone, visitor assistance, specimen delivery, phone calls, mail distribution.
+ Coordinates appointments with Central Scheduling.
+ Entry and reconciliation of infusion charges under direction of the nurse
+ Responsible for the performance of clerical duties on the nursing unit

Experience/Knowledge/Skills Required:
+ Possesses organizational and planning skills.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
+ Ability to concentrate and prioritize in distracting environment.
+ Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.
+ Knowledge of ordering on Meditech 6.0
Education Required
+ Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level.
+ Knowledge of basic patient care technical procedures.
+ Demonstrated computer skills.
Registration/Certification
+ AHA BLS certification (may be within 2 weeks of hire).
+ MA Certified Nurse Assistant License required.
