About the Job
The UAV Field Specialist is a certified part 107 UAS pilot responsible for executing all aspects of UAV missions including UAV mission flying, GPS ground control point capture and other field tasks as needed. The UAV Field Specialist will fly a variety of field missions including Surveying & Mapping, Visual asset inspection, Thermal, Emissions, and confined inspections etc. In addition, the UAV field specialist will assist with data processing and deliverable preparation.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilizes expert knowledge of hardware/software in all industries; including automotive, aerospace, petrochemical, power generation, medical, etc.
- Execute UAV Projects and additional field duties as needed.
- Maintain UAV equipment in optimal condition.
- Processing, Photo, Video, Photogrammetry, LIDAR or other types of point cloud data in various software programs depending on client deliverables.
- Compile and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and inter-office communications including completed performance/inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Maintains a positive relationship between client, facility, and customer; and promote a positive attitude towards coworkers.
- Ensures that all Intertek and site safety policies and procedures are being followed.
- Receives direction from AISS Team Lead and works with other AISS technicians.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 14 CFR Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate is a plus
- Knowledge of FAA rules and other regulatory standards
- Ability to work on offshore facilities such as drill ships, FPSOs, semi-submersibles, production platforms, etc.
- Operate a vehicle safely in oil and gas facilities and field sites.
- Effective communication skills (written, verbal and listening) and solid interpersonal skills are required
- Work well under pressure and understands deadlines
- Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies to ensure your own safety, as well as the safety of others who may be affected by your actions at work
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines
- Able to pass Annual, recurring and random Drug tests comprising of Urine, Hair, Breathalyzer tests etc.
- Able to pass background checks for the purpose of qualifying for TWIC Cards
- Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties
- Must be customer focused and quality driven
- Able to work weekends / overtime if needed
- Current Drivers License With Reliable Driving Record
- Travel domestically and internationally (up to 75%) passport required
Preferred Additional Skills
- Knowledge using Pix4D, Bentley, Agisoft Metashape, or other UAV software platforms.
- Survey/GIS field experience and related software is a plus Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is required
- Experience with UAV Elios 2/3 and/or DJI M300/M350 and point cloud dataset processing experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to climb to heights of 70 feet.
