Allcon Roofing is seeking a driven and experienced Account Manager for Metal Fabrication to join our team, focusing on managing and growing relationships within the metal fabrication sector. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal fabrication and a proven ability to manage multiple accounts and projects, ensuring seamless coordination between customers and internal teams. This role is responsible for building long-term client relationships, overseeing the entire order process from quoting to delivery, and driving sales growth within the Upstate region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers. Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to gain a thorough understanding of the project scope.
- Conduct site visits and assessments as needed to evaluate existing conditions, potential challenges, and other factors that may impact the project's cost estimation.
- Bid metal roof and edge metal jobs for the Upstate region, ensuring competitive and accurate proposals.
- Perform material take-offs to support accurate bidding and cost estimation.
- Perform job-site measuring to ensure accurate project specifications and communicate accepted measuring techniques to field supervisors and project managers.
- Collaborate with operations, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to clarify project details and address any ambiguities or discrepancies.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials and equipment.
- Research and gather information on materials, systems, and technologies to ensure accurate pricing and cost evaluation.
- Utilize estimating software, including Job Boss Software, and other tools to streamline the estimation process and improve accuracy.
- Incorporate factors such as waste, contingency, overhead, and profit margins into the cost estimation for review by direct report.
- Prepare professional and persuasive proposals based on the estimated costs, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Clearly present and justify cost breakdowns, methodologies, material selections to clients, and operations, emphasizing the value and benefits of our proposals.
- Collaborate with sales and business development teams to review and refine proposals, addressing any client concerns or requests.
- Maintain accurate records of project estimates, proposals, correspondence, and related documents.
- Generate reports and summaries detailing project costs, bid results, and other relevant information.
- Assist in the review and analysis of project performance to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
- Create, review shop drawings and submittals as part of the project planning and execution process.
- Assist Allcon and UAM in any support issues as may be requested.
- Identify new business opportunities within existing accounts and potential new clients. Develop strategies to meet sales targets and revenue growth. Prepare and present quotes and proposals to customers.
- Oversee the entire order process from quoting, production, to delivery. Collaborate with production and field teams to ensure product specifications and deadlines are met.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues related to orders, production delays, or product quality. Ensure timely communication with customers about order status and potential problems.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the company's metal fabrication processes, capabilities, and products. Provide technical support and recommendations to customers based on their needs.
- Monitor industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities. Provide feedback to management on product development and market positioning.
- Prepare regular reports on activity, account status, and market trends for senior management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Account Manager or similar role in the metal fabrication industry.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to utilize Microsoft Office tools plus Adobe and a variety of other software.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and visit production sites.
