About the Job
The Business Development Manager (BDM) role at Biocair is critical in its contribution to the achievement of Biocair’s revenue and gross profit targets by building new revenue through developing new customers and adding to our existing customer base, alongside selling our new and existing services to the BioPharma industry as a whole.
As a BDM at Biocair, you will manage the relationship with new and existing clients with Biocair as a supplier, by planned regular periodic face-to-face contact. Promote and execute the companies agreed sales and marketing strategy and capitalize on opportunities to develop new revenue streams from existing customers by working in close collaboration with the Sales & Marketing teams.
Responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the Biocair marketing strategy and assisting in the production of sales revenue targets for each assigned client per financial year based on the knowledge of client trading patterns and potential developments.
- Contributing, to Executive Leadership Team (ELT) where applicable, on pricing strategy and discount levels in order to win additional business or protect revenue levels (within the existing customer base).
- Increasing revenue generation by building a new customer base and proactively operating within the Sales & Marketing strategy in order to achieve sales revenue targets as agreed by the ELT).
- Assisting in the creation of new pricing tenders, RFI / RFPs or service agreements if applicable.
- Working closely with the Customer Service teams to identify opportunities to identify/increase potential revenue streams from the existing customer-trading base by presenting the benefits of new product developments and communicating any areas of competitive activity/initiatives to Sales & Marketing department and Operations.
- Maintaining contact with allocated clients to identify any issues or service failures that could be a threat to maintaining current revenue levels whilst taking ownership of issues through to resolution with full corrective and preventative actions for any issue, with the assistance of the appropriate team members within Biocair.
- Contacting all clients, and potential clients, as per the agreed contact plan in order to discuss issues/opportunities and to obtain referrals and introductions.
- Attending exhibitions, industry seminars, events and networking opportunities as required.
- Tracking actual revenue versus target, for each customer, following up where necessary with client base to gain knowledge about what is influencing performance versus budget, and applying in conjunction with Operations/Finance corrective action.

In addition, you will demonstrate these key competencies:
- Previous demonstrable experience working in an outside sales role with the appetite to travel and go out to customers.
- Solid working knowledge of specialist logistics ideally within pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical trial distribution, and/or temperature controlled transportation.
- Salesforce competency.

Please note this is a full time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00. The role is offered as remote, and candidates will need to be open to US travel.
