Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a US Capital Markets/ Business Analyst for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier Financial Services clients in lower Manhattan. Hybris schedule 2-3x weekly onsite.
Story Behind the Need:
Business group: GWO US Operations Management which is currently overseeing a large-scale change to their payment processes. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a high visibility to project, working closely with multiple Scotia departments. The Project will be supporting International Banking (Global Transaction Banking), Global Banking and Markets, Global Operations, Global Cash Management and other global utilities. " Coverage primarily spans Canada, United States and Mexican stakeholders. Coverage primarily spans Canada, United States and Mexican stakeholders. Usage and knowledge of up to 10 in-house or external systems. Exposure to regulatory bodies such as Federal Reserve Banks or Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Typical Day in Role
Contributes to a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Manage and contribute to a complex, multi-faceted project and system implementation to meet the cross-geographical strategic transaction banking needs of Global Operations and the various business lines by applying financial and technological knowledge to the introduction of new procedures, business initiatives and/or systems solutions.
Preparing/managing detailed action/project plans. Undertaking critical research and analysis to inform current state and best practices. Participate in system training & develop a training program to educate Operations users. Defining a test plan & related test cases to conduct Unit Test, Integrated Systems Testing, User Acceptance Testing. Accurately and clearly defining business requirements on behalf of Operations to concurrent workstreams. Acting as SME where possible. Liaising directly with users, suppliers and external regulatory bodies as required.
Develop comprehensive and in-depth understanding of current transaction banking products & operating model framework with the intention of establishing and documenting detailed future state structure & processes as determined.
Assist with designing and/or reengineering existing business processes, or tools, and document operational processes to assist in managing operational risks, streamlining processes and reducing overall costs. Create tangible/measurable operational efficiencies through the application of business, financial, and process engineering knowledge.
Demonstrate a high level of professional service and effective communication within cross-functional internal and external parties to meet and deliver milestones on-time and/or ahead of schedule.
Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
Thrives in an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
Required Skills :
- 2-4+ years a Business Analyst
- Practical knowledge and 1 to 3 years of experience in Transaction Products with solid understanding of Corporate/Commercial Deposits and back office operational processes/interfaces and risk management techniques
- Superior technical knowledge in MS Office tools and process management software
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.
- Strong communications and influencing skills
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills Solid process/procedural documentation skills.
- Certification in business analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices.
