There’s no pledge more important than the one we make to look after our environment, and we’re committed to helping you do exactly that. Join us as we strive to ensure a sustainable future for our communities and the world we live in. Become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.Who are we looking for?GHD has an exciting opportunity for a US West Dams & Levees Practice Lead with experience in projects relating to dams, levees, water resources, civil works infrastructure and stormwater facilities such as flood control works, channels, and culverts.  This position will work from our Irvine office, supporting projects in the West Region.In an ever changing world, it requires creativity and innovation to stay ahead.We’re seeking the curious, those who are stimulated by fresh thinking and a desire to shape our communities in new, positive ways.As part of a truly global team, working on complex and rewarding projects, you'll be at the forefront of driving change.See what the power of commitment can do for you. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead Client Engagement: Drive client engagement and business development activities to expand the Dams, Levees, and Hydropower business in the Western region of the United States.Business Planning: Collaborate with Regional Leadership on business planning, including client and project identification, tactical client engagement plans, strategic hiring, capture planning, and proposal development.Project Management: Manage projects related to dams and reservoirs, levees, water storage, conveyance and flood control facilities, mine and mill waste tailings dams and embankments, canals, and foundations for structures and buildings.Safety Oversight: Oversee dam and levee safety evaluations and the design and construction of new and modified dams and levees, including earthfill, hydraulic fill, concrete arch, and concrete gravity dams.Geotechnical Investigations: Supervise geotechnical investigations and the geotechnical aspects of planning and designing dam, levee, and hydropower projects.Levee System Projects: Oversee levee system projects, including inspections, geotechnical site investigations and analyses of stability and seepage, preparation and review of plans and specifications for earthwork construction, and construction observation, testing, and documentation.Qualifications; Minimum 20 years of experience in client engagement and business development in the field of dams, levees, and hydropower.Proven track record in business planning, strategic hiring, and proposal development.PE and GE registration in California requiredNational and international experience preferred.Strong project management skills with experience in overseeing complex projects.In-depth knowledge of safety evaluations, design, and construction practices for various types of dams and levees.Expertise in geotechnical investigations and planning for dam, levee, and hydropower projects.As a multicultural organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
