Job Title: Senior MySQL Database architect
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for designing , implementing, and optimizing database solutions for an ECG data management product. This role encompasses maintaining, optimizing, and securing databases, implementing backup/recovery strategies, monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, ensuring compliance with standards, collaborating on engineering solutions and maintaining documentation . Expert level skills in Database architecture and design are required.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements, including data modeling and schema design
• Optimize database performance by analyzing query execution plans, indexing strategies, and resource allocation
• Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and integrity
• Monitor database health and performance, proactively identifying and addressing issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related incidents and performance problems
• Ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations by implementing access controls, encryption, and auditing
• Collaborate with software developers to design and implement efficient and scalable database schemas
• Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices
• Experience with Data Profiling (BI and Analytics)
• Stay up-to-date with emerging database technologies and industry trends to make informed recommendations for improvements.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• At least 5+ years of professional experience as a database architect.
• Advanced knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.
• Prior experience with MySQL database is highly desired.
• Advanced knowledge of query languages like SQL for relational databases and appropriate query languages for NoSQL databases
• Advanced knowledge of backup and recovery strategies
• Expert skills in database design, modeling, query and optimization
• Expert skills in database performance tuning and optimization techniques
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
