HDR has an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join our Northern California Water Business Group in the role of Business Class Lead (BCL) for Utility Management Services (UMS). HDR’s UMS Business Class provides national leadership to develop, coordinate, monitor, and improve technical services for municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater utility support services, particularly utility planning, asset management, finance, regulatory support, and operations consulting. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing the UMS Business Class for the Northern California Area in partnership with the Water Business Group Manager, Market Sector, and Client Development Leaders for development and implementation of the technical and business development strategies for the Northern California UMS Business Class, and support for the National UMS Business Class. The UMS BCL will provide technical support for a broad range of projects, which may include: condition assessment and rehabilitation of water, wastewater, and stormwater facilities, utility management/asset management, business process assessments, strategic planning, operations optimization, regulatory support, system conveyance, master planning, technology selection/on-boarding, or data management/ visualization. You will implement a range of best management practices with water, wastewater, and/or stormwater utilities including master planning, condition assessment, asset management and maintenance management best practices. In this role we’ll count on you to participate and lead in the following areas:Staff DevelopmentRecruit, select, train, develop, and manage technical personnel. Manage and develop multidisciplinary teams. Take responsibility for operations of production section including utilization, morale, quality control and marketing support. Implement, monitor, and support company policy. Supervise business class group leaders, engineers and technical staff (assumed in the 6-10 person range). Technical ExcellenceParticipate in delivery of project services through planning and design phases to meet client expectations, including project management.Marketing and delivery of UMS services to existing and potential clients.Participate in internal and external professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices including presentations for professional associations. Implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews. Support drinking water, wastewater, and stormwater opportunities and projects including master and facility planning, business case evaluations, asset management, regulatory technical support efforts, and financial planning. Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation

Marketing and StrategyBe directly involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews. Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation. Drive area initiatives that are relative to the business class. Perform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications:California PE license or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months.Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.Master’s degree in civil, environmental, or related technical discipline within the water sectorMinimum 10 years of demonstrated leadership experienceExperience in developing water, wastewater, and/or stormwater master plans and asset management programsDatabase assessments and analysis, GIS analysis, computer programing in support of infrastructure planningPreference will be given to local candidates, however non-local candidates with outstanding resumes will be considered, and relocation assistance may be offered to qualifying candidates.Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brandQualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field 10 years of experience Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience experienced in development and management of diverse teams Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We BelieveHDR is our company
