Reworld is a world leader in sustainable waste management and renewable energy. Reworld's 45 Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facilities provide communities and businesses around the world with an environmentally sound solution to their solid waste disposal needs by using waste to generate clean, renewable energy.
Annually, Reworld's modern Energy-from-Waste facilities safely and securely convert approximately 20 million tons of waste into 9 million megawatt hours of clean renewable electricity and almost 9 billion pounds of steam that are sold to a variety of industries. Reworld's facilities also recover 400,000 tons of metal per year for recycling.
Utility Operator is an entry-level position, a great opportunity for individuals looking to work in the power industry. Working under the direction of the Operations Supervisor, the individual will be responsible for general labor duties at the Energy from Waste facility. Utility Operators must maintain their work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner and comply with all safety and operational policies and procedures. This position will be involved in plant projects and forced boiler outages.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Cleaning, painting, groundskeeping, and preventative maintenance
• Operation, safety inspection, and minor maintenance of mobile equipment, including front-end loader, forklift, and street sweeper
• Maintain cleanliness of the facility's mobile equipment daily
• Working in the boilers during maintenance outages
• Moving equipment and materials
• Loading and unloading trucks utilizing front-end loaders
• Perform facility safety inspections
• Monitor and maintain proper operation of ash conditioning, ash removal, ferrous and non-ferrous metals recovery systems
• Perform and document inspections of equipment to identify and report equipment malfunctions
• Clean conveyor spillage
• Maintain work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
• Assist other operating personnel as necessary to support plant operations
Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Prior experience in an industrial environment is desired
• Must be able to work overtime as needed including nights and weekends
• The ideal candidate will progress toward the qualification of additional roles which lead to promotions
