Utility Operator Swing Shift - Friday-Sunday, 4:30am-5:00pm

Job summary:

As a Laser and Bender Cell Utility Operator, you will assist in the manufacturing facility doing a wide variety of tasks including moving steel tube and sheets, grinding, deburring, cutting material with cold saw and band saw, packing material, assisting with fiber laser machine, cleaning, among other duties. You will primarily work with the Laser and Bending team/.

Job Responsibilities:

• Works independently as well as within teams to assist manufacturing process in whatever way needed
• Operate grinder, deburring machine, and other power equipment as needed

• Ability to take instructions and work independently while also seeking out opportunities to contribute on the team when assigned tasks are complete
• Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered
• Follow safety guidelines, must not pose a risk to self or others, identify potential safety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary
• Works well within department as well as with other departments including warehouse, facilities, welding, planning, purchasing, engineering, and others as needed or warranted.
• Sweeping, cleaning, running floor cleaner, removing trash, organizing work areas as requested or needed
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned

• Ability to measure using calipers and adjust machines as necessary to meet size requirements
• The ability to efficiently manage and organize several projects at one time

• Demonstrated ability to effectively inspect assigned work using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gages, gauge pins, or special equipment as required
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in both written and verbal form

• Willingness to do whatever it takes as to help the team succeed
• A passion for skilled trade work and a desire to advance in this field as cross-training and may provide a viable career pathway for the right individua

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience with hand tools and production machines preferred
