Utility/Trainee Position - Enviva

The role provides structured learning and development opportunities to prepare individuals for successful integration into a specific role within the port. This role will provide hands-on training to gain knowledge and skills for future roles at the port. This will include working in receiving, quality, and housekeeping departments.
Responsibilities
- Follow all workplace and job safety procedures
- Keep area clean of accumulated dust and keep area generally neat and orderly to meet housekeeping standards
- Operator mobile equipment (Bobcat, Lull, etc.) to move dust collection bags
- Receive pellets and record data accurately
- Collect samples, test finished good and record data accurately
- Communicate to Operations team escalating issues as necessary
- Perform other related duties as required and serve as back up resource as needed
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED or able to complete GED requirements within six months of hire
- Ability to work multiple shift schedules and rotating shifts as required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to independently manage priorities and schedule to meet deadlines.
- Able to obtain a TWIC
Working Conditions
- Must be able to work in outdoor environment and occasionally in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees
- Willing and able to work in a hot, humid, cold and noisy industrial environment
- Work includes high places more than 175 feet, use main lifts and work in confined spaces
- Willing and able to maintain a strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and overnight to address unexpected site issues with or without notice
Physical Requirements
- Able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing and crawling and pulling for up to twelve (12) hours per day
- Able to work in high places more than 175 feet, use man lifts and work in confined spaces
- Able to work around moving equipment and machinery
- Able to pull and lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to safety and successfully perform and essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
