About the Job
Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.4 years of experience in front-end development, technical UX design, or prototyping.Experience with web front end development using React, HTML, CSS, TypeScript and JavaScript.Preferred qualifications:5 years of experience developing responsive, adaptive, and performant websites and applications.5 years of experience as a front-end developer, UX Engineer, creative or design technologist, or in a prototyping design environment.Experience in prototyping and developing with APIs and real data endpoints, including Gen-AI, Gemini, and Google Maps public APIs (Places, Directions, 3D Tiles).Experience working closely with design and research teams focused on prototyping for user studies.Understanding of design sensibility, UX processes and principles, interaction design, and user-centered design

You will work with designers, researchers, product managers, and other UX Engineers to create user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces that meet the needs of our users.The Geo team is focused on building the most accurate, comprehensive, and useful maps for our users, through products like Maps, Earth, Street View, Google Maps Platform, and more
Every month, more than a billion people rely on Maps services to explore the world and navigate their daily lives.The Geo team also enables developers to use the power of Google Maps platforms to enhance their apps and websites
As they plot a course for the future of mapping, they are solving complex computer science problems, designing beautiful and intuitive product experiences, and improving our understanding of the real world.The US base salary range for this full-time position is $122,000-$178,000 + bonus + equity + benefits

Responsibilities Manage multiple project requests simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.Work with UX Designers, Researchers, and other UX Engineers to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new User Interfaces.Collaborate with other engineers on final implementation and polish.Meet high accessibility standards.Serve as a mentor for early career UX engineers and peers.
