UX Writer at TEKsystems

Description:

As a UX Writer on the Device Packaging Experience team, you will be responsible for developing and editing customer obsessed packaging content for all branded devices. Deliverables include: taglines, tech specs, content lists. Your copy will reflect our brand voice & tone, while maintaining content consistency across all product lines. Additionally, you will provide support for inbox publications which include: Quick Start Guides, Demo Setup Guides, and Warranty/Safety/Legal documents. You’ll work closely with a team and a wide range of stakeholders, developing content that precisely meets stakeholder and print production requirements. You’ll write taglines, tech specs, and other printed content that engages customers and initiates the user experience with devices. You’ll learn, implement, and contribute to style guides, and drive consistency across a diverse portfolio of print deliverables. Additionally, you’ll work closely with a technical publications team, supporting and aligning packaging content with other print deliverables like user guides and warranty, safety, and legal documents.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Collaborate with Hardware Product Managers, Designers, Go-To-Market teams and other key stakeholders to develop printed and online device setup instructions and engagement pieces.

* Ensure the highest standards of style and writing (e.g., grammar, spelling, syntax, diction, punctuation, brand alignment).

* Help improve processes for how content is created, delivered, and maintained.

* Proofread all final documents before print.

* Work closely with the subject matter experts, advocating for product and documentation innovation on behalf of the customer.

* Continually push for the briefest, most delightful copy that enhances the device unboxing experience.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science, or related field

* 7+ years’ experience in writing and editing technical documentation

* Impeccable written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to break down complex topics into concise customer-friendly content

* Ability to manage multiple projects at once

* Experience working cross-team and synthesizing feedback and input from multiple stakeholders

* Ability to earn trust, engage, and influence people and teams at every level in the organization

* Experience in consumer electronics publications and/or packaging

* Experience writing, publishing and managing help content

* Experience with content management systems and project management tools

* Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous, deadline-driven environment

* A proactive and open-minded attitude to resolving problems and delivering results

* Proven ability to balance long-term visioning with immediate needs
