Validation/ Storage Text Engineer
Location: Morrisville, NC – 27560 – Onsite Role
Duration: 6-12 Months Contract, to be renewed depending on performance

Job Summary – We are looking for a validation engineer with a background in storage validation on server based HW for a temporary position with Lenovo’s ISG validation team. This role will require knowledge of server storage devices and server based operating systems. Candidates will be responsible functional verification of storage subsystems and interoperability, discovery, and documentation of defects, fix verification, and updating tools/status.

Years of experience needed – 5-6 Years

Job responsibilities:

• Execution of test plans on Lenovo servers

• Setup, deployment, and reconfiguration of Servers / Server HW

• Identification and documentation defects

Technical Skills:

• Familiarity with Server Storage:

· SAS, SATA, NVME drives

· Raid / HBA adapters

· External storage arrays (SAS attached)

· Drive Backplanes

• Server Operating systems (RedHat, SuSE, Windows, VMWare, Ubuntu, etc.)

• Understanding of Product validation, unit testing or error injection

• Knowledge of Computer / Server subsystems

• UEFI or Systems Management functions / protocols

• Ability to understand technical documents such as system or protocol specifications.

• Understanding of automated tests / automation frameworks

• Ability to communicate well, both verbally and written

• Problem solving
