Description:RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Value Analysis Service Line Manager works under the direction of the Value Analysis Director and is responsible for supporting and facilitating service line team(s) in achieving Supply Chains mission to ensure the preservation and improvement of the quality of patient care, outcomes and experience, while fostering standardization and reduction in cost and utilization
- Leads and manages cross functional Value Analysis teams/clinical specialty committees responsible for product/service introductions, supporting quality improvement initiatives, utilization and cost containment initiatives, and giving strategic sourcing guidance
- Manages the review of new products/services and supports the interdisciplinary team in preparing for the service line review
- Reviews and assesses applicable financial, clinical, and operational data, as well as evidence-based literature to assist teams in evaluating new supplies and new technology, using evidence based clinical data, benchmarked best practices and data driven analysis
- Develops opportunities and identifies process improvements that are focused on substantial supply/service cost reduction, standardization and utilization, while maintaining or enhancing quality
- Assists the contracts and sourcing team in developing new opportunities, monitor existing strategic contracts to enhance vendor performance and fulfillment, utilizing leveraged spend, research current contracts for deeper discounts, reducing costs while maintaining quality, and base decisions on fact analysis and market intelligence
- Works with Group Purchasing Organization(s) to identify cost savings opportunities, program initiatives and best practices
- Oversees opportunities and develops qualitative/quantitative analyses and methodologies for product/service utilization and cost reduction efforts focused on cost containment, utilization, waste reduction, and overall cost per service
- Engages subject matter experts to work through and effectively manages traditional barriers to improvement, analyzing to identify problems, formulate alternative solutions, understanding cost models, and determining clinical acceptability
- Coordinates inservicing with end users for new product introductions, trials and product conversions Facilitates communications and applicable clinical literature to support product utilization, product conversions and additions, trials and committee activities Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and healthcare system executives and staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes
- Oversees new product or service introduction, trials and overall change initiatives on behalf of end users at all (EHC) facilities
- Documents identified and implemented cost savings initiatives and audits projected utilization and actual spend
- Records and prepares product and service utilization reports and updates Introduces and educates departments and end users regarding applicable sourcing/procurement/ analytical tools that assist with tracking product requests, monitor spend/utilization, and product information. Supports backorder and patient safety incident resolution with identification and recommendation of clinically acceptable alternatives
- Serves as a clinical liaison to executive leadership to maintain and communicate Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for clinical and financial performance measurements related to value analysis
- Maintains relationship with key vendor partners and participates in strategic business reviews with a focus on value-add offerings
- Maintains awareness of the external market and best practices by participation in professional organizations
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Art 5+ years of relevant clinical experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and facilitate change
- Ability to organize workload and set priorities
- Project management/team leadership experience with ability to initiate and complete projects with measurable outcomes
- Understanding of financial analysis and quantitative/qualitative assessment data
- Use of Microsoft Office and other work-related software
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- CVAHP certification
